yup, so it was madrid this weekend. Was reading up on the city before I left and didn't expect anything but shopping and tapas bars. Lo & behold, the only things I remember from the trip are shopping and tapas haha and that the Spanish eat their dinner at like 11pm or sth. But I like it that the streets are bustling with activities even till late night, just like singapore! and so unlike germany, blaaaa. Here it is like a dead town by 8pm or sth. now that it's winter it is worse. :( And I was feeling super faint-y in the morning during breakfast, I could see patches of black stuff and i couldn't hear anything and it was awful. :( Thank God I felt better after some rest, and then we left for Mannheim. Madrid was good anyhow :) ZARA & PULL&BEAR & MNG & H&M

Was reading one of my oldold friend's blog, and she mentioned about how she met her boyfriend, and how, because one of her friend asked her to bid for a class with her and she did and she ended up in this class which her boyfriend was incidentally in it as well and blablabla and they got together. I think there are many many small things in life that can actually define the rest of your life and how these small things can bring about huge impacts, whether happy or sad, is amazing. I think everyone has their own "If it wasn't for___, I wouldn't have met xxx" kind of story to tell. For me, if I hadn't make a last minute decision of changing my choice of secondary school to Dunman (I chose AHS as my first choice for both my option forms & was at the school ready for registration to enroll) cos I met someone that I didn't really like while queuing up (ok i know that was damn stupid, seriously, my mom almost killed me), I wouldn't even be in Dunman, I wouldn't even be in 1C, I wouldn't even have met my besties & of cos, my cute boyfriend (haha i know no one else will agree with me that he is cute, but he is really quite cute lar :X) and ___ & ________. Yea, just that small tiny decision that you thought was so trivial. :) Maybe for you xr, if you hadnt gone for the vietnam trip, and for E, if her friend hadnt thrown her shoe at C, ..... hahaha so amazingggggggg |

internet down yesterday, both of us at home felt so crippled. haha i neeeeeed internet (& fb). and, THERE IS BRIGHT SUNSHINE TODAY! bright sunshine & warmth are so precious to me now. &&&, my German exam consists of a presentation component, and im supposed to present in German about Singapore. hahaha i think it is going to be hilarious :D

Went on a short trip on my own to Wertheim Village (outlet shopping with longchamp,birkies,etc! :D) , and brought only my fisheye with me today. I think it is so much more enjoyable taking photos with a film camera! No reviewing after each shot to check if the lightings or whatever setting's good enough, no deleting of ugly photos, no need to look through the viewfinder when shooting. It makes photo-shooting so much moreeeeee fun! Too bad that developing photos here is too ex so I shall just wait till I return back to singapore to see how everything turns out. :) Excitingggggg
The train trip to Wertheim was so nice cos of the pretty scenery. I was looking out of the window with my eyes wide opened and only when I saw my own reflection on the glass, I realised I was smiling so silly-ly at the window. Autumn is so pretty and I find myself smiling like a retard when looking at the huge piece of picturesque postcard. haha but who cares, I was alone and everyone around me doesnt know me anyway, retarded then retarded lo. : D &I was just eating my 15cents bread and drinking plain water on the train, which made me feel like a simple girl in a simple and nice world, while looking at this ah mah playing with her grandson. Haha I may be some mediocre person who may be seen as an under-achiever when compared to my friends but maybe it isn't so bad and at least & more importantly, I am happy being me :) haha sorry no link to the bread and water but I am just happy today, byebye! |

I seriously do not understand how a person can be so insensitive to people's feelings always talk in a condescending tone like he/she's always better than the rest and is always right and how they can be so unappreciative and do not know how to volunteer to do stuff and must wait for obvious hints before doing something expected of him/her and only help people when people offer help to him/her first or if people are useful to him/her and is always so unhelpful! roar. maybe sometimes it is really better not to have any expectations of others then maybe you won't feel so disappointed.
unhappy things aside. i have three presentations coming up! haha friends do not think that i am that slack ok. The boyfriend sent me a Pilot G2 pen plus 2 refills cos the pens here are so superbly expensive (G2 here is like 2.30 euros = 4.70sgd) and he says "aiya i dont even think you can finish the first pen you are so slack you don't even need to write anything" THAT IS SO NOT TRUE.
 everytime i think about the number of years we've been together i'll never fail to be amazed :O even though you stole so many of the chocolates that i wanted you to give my girlfriends >:( see you soon boyfriend! :)

Like what E said, this whole exchange experience is like, a new life in a new place. Away from the family and friends that I got so used to playing and talking and staying with, no more tauhuay/caitaukuey/pohpiah/hotplatetofu, no more it-is-perpetually-hot-i-do-not-not-need-to-check-the-weather-forecast-to-decide-what-to-wear-the-next-day, and no more portable water straight from the tap. International students surround me all the time I can only speak singlish to Singaporeans, and I am studying out-of-the-world stuff (out of my world, at least) like Ethics and Management/Business Ethics/Psychology-Theory of Mind/Self &Memory/E-government and its implications just because I am desperate for English courses here since they are so limited. I go grocery shopping in between lesson and bring cabbage and lettuce & fake oyster sauce& toilet papers to lesson. I have to calculate every bit of my expenses just to make sure that I have enough to keep me alive until 10.01.10. My favourite people have become so pixelated (but im still thankful for skype).
I am very glad I chose this option :)

I've been away from the comfort of home for 2 months already, and I've never had this feeling before. I'm pretty much used to the slow-paced &relax lifestyle here, having to leave home without my phone feels perfectly normal and alright, unlike when back in Sg. Still in the process of learning Deutsch and I'm still at "How are you?" & "1,2,3,4,5,...,100" so naturally I still have doubletrouble understanding the Germans and be understood. The kind of comfort in living here is different from the kind in your own home. I'm enjoying everything I have now, but I'm missing the people who matter in my life. Wish important people are here to enjoy everything I am experiencing now with me, everything will be triple/quadruple/zillionple more enjoyable and beautiful.
Thank God for internet.
